Angie Galimanis brings 19 years of public relations experience to her position as owner and president of Lawrence PR. She manages the development and execution of strategic public relations campaigns that help clients break through to consumers and the media. Her work has garnered results in countless top tier national print publications, including: The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, O Magazine, The Washington Post and Fortune, as well as national broadcast, including: The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, CNN, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Food Network, Good Morning America and numerous local and regional outlets.
Angie was honored by the Portland Business Journal in 2013 when she received the Women of Influence Orchid Award in recognition of her professional achievements and community involvement. Her campaigns have received numerous national awards, including a prestigious Silver SABRE Award in 2012 for Best Media Placement for Moonstruck Chocolate Co. Another campaign under her direction for the Heathman Hotel in Portland, Ore., was a 2013 Gold SABRE Award finalist.
Angie manages campaigns and provided strategic public relations counsel for a broad range of consumer and business-to-business clients including World of Speed, Youth Music Project and the Meteor Lounge, Certified Languages International and GP Your Neighborhood Kitchen. A sampling of past clients include Widmer Brothers Brewing, Travel Portland, Travel Oregon, ZAGG, Moonstruck Chocolate Co., Orchard Supply Hardware, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Brasada Ranch, Umpqua Bank, Consumer Cellular and the Heathman Hotel Group.
Prior to launching Lawrence PR, Angie was the vice president of LANE PR. She served as a trusted advisor to CEOs and provided expertise, perspective and industry insight to advance the long-term strategic goals of a broad portfolio of clients. She ensured that key metrics for success were in place and that account teams deliver the highest level of service.
Prior to LANE, Angie served as the public relations manager for Moonstruck Chocolate Company where she developed, implemented and managed all aspects of public relations for the Moonstruck Chocolate brand, taking them from a local chocolate company to a national brand during a five-year period.
She also served as vice president at Serling & Associates, where she was responsible for public relations campaigns for regional and national clients, including Krispy Kreme, Zelda Wisdom and Will Vinton Studios. Galimanis started her career as an associate producer for The Good Evening Show, an evening magazine-format program that aired on KGW-TV in Portland, Ore.
As vice president at Lawrence PR, Katie Schoen shares more than 12 years of integrated marketing experience. She has worked with clients in a variety of industries, with a particular emphasis on consumer, food/beverage, travel, hospitality, business-to-business, education and non-profit. With each of her clients, Katie provides overarching marketing strategy and develops impactful public relations campaigns. As a result, her clients have been featured in national publications ranging from Real Simple, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Today Show to regional outlets like Sunset, Portland Monthly, The Oregonian and The Seattle Times. Additionally, she has extensive event experience, hosting both media and consumers throughout the nation, with markets including Seattle, Aspen, Napa, Dallas, Birmingham, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York and Las Vegas.
Katie’s clients, past and present, include: Bear Naked, Brasada Ranch, Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce, Certified Languages International, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Ecliptic Brewing, GP Kitchen, Kashi, Louis M. Martini Winery, Moonstruck Chocolate, Orchard Supply Hardware, Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory, Sparkloft Media, Travel Portland, Tree Top, Tony’s Chocolonely and Wines from Spain. She has also worked to drive awareness, engagement and donations for a number of non-profit organizations, including Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum, James Beard Public Market, The Bloom Project, World of Speed and Youth Music Project.
Katie currently sits on the board of directors for Bridge Meadows, an intergenerational community serving foster youth, adoptive parents and elders. She has also volunteered her time to a number of charitable organizations, serving on the marketing committees for both the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the American Cancer Society Hope Ball. In 2013, she was a VIP Charity Athlete for Hood To Coast benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Originally from Portland, Ore., Katie graduated on the Dean’s List from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications with an emphasis in public relations. Following graduation, she was enlisted as a university spokesperson for the If UOnly Knew promotional campaign.
Tracy is a vice president at Lawrence PR and brings more than a decade of broad communications experience to her role. After starting out in the newsroom at the local CBS affiliate, she soon realized public relations and communications were her calling and has spent the bulk of her career driving public relations strategy for a wide range of clients.
A tried and true public relations generalist, Tracy has worked with clients in the consumer, food and beverage, travel, hospitality, financial services and consumer tech industries. She has led the public relations and communications strategy and key campaigns for clients including Ilani, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Portland Roasting Coffee, Regions Bank, Travel Portland, Travel Oregon, Tree Top and currently works with Classic Wines Auction, Hawks View Cellars, Tony’s Chocolonely, YALA and World of Speed.
Throughout her career, Tracy has worked with top-tier outlets to secure key placements for her clients, including stories Bloomberg, CNBC, ELLE, Fast Company, Lucky, Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard, Reuters and US Weekly. Her work also includes strategic paid content and influencer strategies as needed to support client objectives, as well as experience in crisis planning and communications.
Tracy is a Portland native and is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of School of Journalism and Communication.
Jenica Villamor brings six years of television broadcast experience to Lawrence PR. After receiving her bachelor of arts in broadcast journalism from the University of Oregon, she got her start as a multimedia journalist at KTVL News10 in Medford, Ore. She covered everything from wildfires across Southern Oregon to Tsunami surges in the coastal towns of Northern California. Jenica later moved to Spokane, Wash., where she reported on severe weather, including snow storms and massive power outages to devastating wildfires in Central Washington.
She eventually returned to her hometown of Portland, Ore. as a feature reporter, where she interviewed celebrities like Jason Derulo and highlighted the local film and television industry. As a one-woman-band, she shot, wrote and edited lifestyle segments for “More Good Day Oregon” on FOX12.
At Lawrence PR, Jenica leverages her journalism background to craft interesting stories inspired by her clients, and sharing these stories with target media to generate a constant drumbeat of coverage.
Jenica was born on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Her family moved throughout the Pacific Northwest before settling in Tigard, Ore. In her free time, she’s competing nationally with her Portland women’s ultimate team, testing her limits at her CrossFit gym or exploring the outdoors.
Jane Wiley works directly with the Lawrence PR account staff, learning the intricacies of public relations, along with the managing details associated with each of the firm’s diverse clients. As account coordinator, Jane has her hands on many of the client’s day-to-day projects, and works to keep files organized and client services running smoothly.
Jane is a graduate of University of Oregon, where she received a degree in advertising and business. Since graduation, she served as an account coordinator for a growing advertising firm, DHX Advertising. She’s led several freelance projects, wherein she created websites and logos for a variety of clients, such as a stationery business and an author. Jane also continues to work as a freelance portrait photographer in her spare time.
The native Portlander lives in Northeast Portland, where she enjoys discovering new restaurants and shops, as well as listening to as much live and local music as she can. Jane is a passionate, hardworking and creative addition to the Lawrence PR team.
Lila Martin DeBenedetti
Lila Martin DeBenedetti has close to a decade of experience in culinary and travel PR. She founded Talk Story in 2016, following over six years in the public relations department at Travel Portland. Her most recent position at Travel Portland was national PR manager, leading publicity efforts with national media based in New York. During her time at Travel Portland, Lila also managed PR for Greater Portland (RCMP), worked in content creation, social media and events.
She has a wealth of experience in itinerary planning and press tours. Prior to starting her own independent PR practice, Lila worked with Broussard Communications in Portland, representing some of the city’s top restaurants and chefs. She has a strong network of editors, writers, photographers and producers, and since starting Talk Story, has secured feature coverage for clients in publications such as Sunset, Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Travel + Leisure, Naturally, and more. She also lead PR efforts for chef Joshua McFadden’s cookbook, Six Seasons: A New Way with Vegetables, including a press tour in New York, which included an launch event with Bon Appétit and test kitchen events at Vice and Saveur. Talk Story’s current clients include Submarine Hospitality (Tusk and Ava Gene’s), Kachka, The Suttle Lodge & Boathouse and Antica Terra winery.
Lila recently moved 20 miles outside of Portland to a filbert farm in the Willamette Valley, where her husband runs his farmhouse brewery, Wolves & People. In their free time, they love to go hiking on the Oregon Coast or road tripping to the lakes and hot springs in Central Oregon.
Judiaann Woo was born in South Korea, raised in Portland and developed her career in New York City. She served as VP of Culinary Development for iSi North America, where she worked with some of the finest culinary talents in the world, many of whom inspired the modern food movement. Prior to her time with iSi, Judiaann worked in marketing as an executive director for the International Culinary Center (formerly The French Culinary Institute), all while serving as a contributing editor at Food Arts magazine. As a culinary personality, she has appeared in various media outlets including Food Network and the Cooking Channel.
With a solid background in traditional brand marketing, media relations and social media, Judiaann also shares a great deal of expertise around the latest food, travel and lifestyle trends. It was with this diverse set of skills and experience that led her to run the global communications program at Travel Oregon. During her four years with the state tourism organization, Judiaann oversaw all consumer and industry communications, including award-winning media relations programs and the “7 Wonders of Oregon,” the most successful brand campaign in the state’s history, which won the best state marketing campaign in the country (2015).
While at Travel Oregon, Judiaann also played a leading role in leveraging the organization’s title sponsorship with Feast Portland and helped shape the PR program that garnered record-breaking earned media coverage for Portland, the festival and its partners. Her culinary background and contacts played a significant role in shaping Oregon’s position as a premier culinary destination among the media.
As an independent consultant, Judiaann utilizes her many skills and contacts to help brands better connect to their audience.
After working 30+ years in the accounting field, Laurie came on board with Lawrence PR at its inception. She is the proud mother of owner/president Angie Galimanis, and is the youngest daughter of the company’s namesake, Lawrence Rora.
As controller, Laurie is accountable for all financial operations at Lawrence PR.
Her favorite pastime is spending time with family and friends, whether it’s visiting her daughter Michelle in Italy, hosting deck parties and Sunday night family dinners or Big Grammie Day on Wednesdays spent with her fantastic granddaughters, Hanna and Katie.
